Beautiful botanical book to be treasured
This attractive vintage gardening book was written by Horace J. Wright, late secretary and chairman of the National Sweet Pea Society. The book is in its original cover with a framed sweet pea picture plate on the front.
This treasure of a book provides the gardener with everything you could wish to learn about growing and showing Sweet Peas. The pages have ragged edges and there is plenty of browning and foxing to the textured pages that only comes with age. The book includes eight colour plates which are in nice condition.
'Sweet Peas' was published in around 1910-1915 as part of the Present Day Gardening Series by the publisher TC and EC Jack of Edinburgh and London.
Condition: The book is in good to acceptable condition with bumped corners and occasional marks and grubby areas. No loose pages but the spine has some rough edges. The pages are roughly cut with foxing due to the vintage character.
